I’m probably the last person on Earth who should be criticizing Apple (he types on his Macbook right before checking his email on his iPad while his iPhone 4 rings in the background), but this antenna thing is getting weird.
First of all, I have never personally had a problem, but I also don’t hold my phone in the way they show in the videos to cause the problem. I actually rarely hold my phone at all — 90% of the calls I make are either on speakerphone or using the iPhone headphones. So I can’t personally speak to the frustration.
But Apple’s response is getting increasingly bizarre. It’s turned into unabashed mudslinging — literally filming competitors phones screwing up in the same way, and gleefully publishing the clips on YouTube.
I understand the crux of the argument (all phones have this problem!), but it seems like a particularly fourth grade way of handling the situation. Is this really what corporate America has become? Publishing clips of competitors screwing up?
It’s makin’ me uneasy…
